FILMS to be SCREENED :
It's in the Water : 1996/ 1hr 40 min
Set in Texas, the film takes pot shots at the attitudes of small-town America.
The opening of an AIDS hospice in fictional Azalea Springs sends the town in a tizzy. First the Ladies League volunteers to help, but pulls out after protests are staged by the church, spearheaded by a comic in-the-closet anti-gay "brother." Next, our central heroine, Alex, a stunning, sexy society wife quits the League in protest of their homophobia and begins working at the hospice. The film is fast paced and hilarious and has its share of "coming-out" plots and "empowering" situations.

Trembling Before G_D : 2001 / 1 hr 25 min
Trembling Before G-d is an unprecedented feature documentary that shatters assumptions about faith, sexuality, and religious fundamentalism. Built around intimately-told personal stories of Hasidic and Orthodox Jews who are gay or lesbian, the film portrays a group of people who face a profound dilemma - how to reconcile their passionate love of Judaism and the Divine with the drastic Biblical prohibitions that forbid homosexuality. As the film unfolds, we meet a range of complex individuals - some hidden, some out - from the world's first openly gay Orthodox rabbi to closeted, married Hasidic gays and lesbians to those abandoned by religious families to Orthodox lesbian high-school sweethearts.

Defying Gravity : 1997 / 1 hr 30 min
The plot centres around collegian Jock Griffin (Daniel Chilson), who is seen sneaking out of a house early in the morning and returning to his own frat house so as not to reveal something that even we are unaware of. Soon, we find out he's a closet homosexual, engaging in a "little something-something" with clean-cut Pete Bradley (Don
Handfield), who becomes frustrated with Griff's unwillingness to have a more meaningful relationship and leaves him.
There are complications when Pete invites Griff to talk things over at a café, which is gay hangout. Pre is the victim of the subsequent gaybashing incident of which Griff is the only witness. In the wake of this violent event, Griff must struggle with a life-defining decision. Is he willing to come out in order to come forward in the name of justice?
NOTE :
- The films are excellent copies on DVD & VHS.

films.
