STARTERS AND MORE

CAMBATA BUILDING
1 ST FLR, EAST WING,
M.K. ROAD, CHURCHGATE,
BOMBAY-400020

Décor and Place

A brand new elegant restaurant situated at the first floor of the Eros Theatre . Awesome place with a Bar below a huge video screen overlooking the restaurant with a juke box on the side . A lot of effort has gone into the decor of the place and it shows . They have a glass panel on one side overlooking the huge Oval Maidan .This garden was famous for its late night cruising/sex [specially the kothis] , unfortunately now the garden gates shut at 8 pm and the Security is deployed all around.

Staff

Excellent ,couteous and good staff. The majority of the staff is mind blowing and specially the cloakroom attendant .Excellent service.

Food

Concentration here is more on the starters .The starters are from Middle East , Medditerrean , Italian , Indian , Oreintal , etc , etc . Thet are promoting the concept of having with their drinks heavy starters and relatively a light main course and looks like it is working as they are going pretty packed.

The starters like The assorted satay , Macaroni croquettes, Jacket potatoes , Cajun fish fingers with a mustard mayonnaise were excellent. Even a Turkish Chicken dish called Shish Tavuk was lip smacking . No room for any complaints. In the main corse we tried Aubergines in spicy Thai green curry with rice and a Steak in Beer Sauce , yummy was the word . Whatever we had it was too good. Tried the desserts even they were excellent, they were a Fruit Trifle in Amaeretto Sauce and Some choux pastry with a custard filling .

Pricing

Moderately expensive place , works out to approx. 700 to 800 per head though the Drinks are reasonably priced at the moment .

Worth Going Back

Definately over and over again, till they don't change their cute Chef Salil .

One thing more here you are specially invited to walk into the kitchen at any point and have a look . They have placed a card on each table asking the guest to feel free and just walk into the Kitchen .
